Dear Parents,

Welcome to Kindergarten at Kempsville Elementary School!  Mrs. Ginn (teaching assistant) and I can't wait to meet our new Kempsville friends.


At the beginning of the year, the children are introduced to the classroom rules and daily schedule.  They are getting to know one another, writing their names in the D'Nealian method of handwriting, participating in letter and number activities, working in academic centers, and discovering guided reading goups.

I will be meeting with all parents at the end of the first nine weeks to discuss successes and expectations, and to share your child's work .  I am looking forward to an exciting year of academic discoveries with your child.
